Automation is Great…With a Human Close and In Control (Super Max airplane)

I have to say I doubt I would ever get into a self-driving car.  As a career technology guy, I have seen computers make mistakes over and over again to create misleading data.  Too many times I have seen managers ignore the mistakes.  They aren’t necessarily devastating, but when one is talking about pure data, many times the mistakes that lead to incorrect assessments cost money, not lives.  So with the questions surrounding the Boeing Super Max aircraft, and the reports of difficulty in maintaining control of the planes by the human pilots, I want to ease up on having computers do too much for me.  I don’t even like sensors that automatically put the brakes on for me.  If I am too busy texting or just daydreaming to put on the brakes, it is time for me to pull over.

Here is an article that gives great information on what is going on with the crashes, I hope you check it out.
